What our content is, what it is not, and where our knowledge actually comes from. This page matters more on an electrical site than on most.

Information only
Everything published on voltbrook.com is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not professional advice, and it is not tailored to your situation, your equipment, or your local rules.
Our content is research based, not tested
Volt Brook does not perform hands on testing. We do not run products on a bench, we do not measure output or efficiency in a lab, and we do not claim personal ownership or long term use of the products we cover.
Our conclusions are built from manufacturer specifications and datasheets, published installation manuals and standards, and verified owner reports. Where the documentation and the owner reports disagree, we say so on the page rather than quietly choosing whichever reads better.
This matters because it tells you exactly how much weight to give a recommendation. We think a careful reading of the documentation is genuinely useful. We do not think it is the same thing as testing, and we will not describe it as if it were.
Not professional or electrical advice
Nothing on this site constitutes professional engineering advice, licensed electrical advice, legal advice, or financial advice. We are not your electrician, your installer, or your inspector.
Electrical codes, permit requirements, and inspection rules vary by country, state, county, and sometimes by insurer. What is acceptable in one place may be prohibited in another. Always check the requirements that apply where you are, and use a licensed professional where the law or good sense requires one.
Safety
Solar, battery, and inverter work involves genuine hazards. Battery banks can deliver extremely high short circuit current even at 12 volts. Damaged or incorrectly charged cells can vent, catch fire, or release hazardous gas. Undersized conductors and missing overcurrent protection are a recognised fire risk. Mains voltage on the output side of an inverter can kill.
You are solely responsible for any work you carry out or commission, and for verifying that it is safe, correct, and compliant. If any step is beyond your confidence or competence, stop and hire a licensed electrician.
Accuracy and currency
We work hard to be accurate, but manufacturers revise specifications, discontinue models, and update firmware and documentation without notice. Figures on this site reflect our understanding at the time of writing and may be out of date when you read them. Always confirm current specifications against the manufacturer’s own documentation before you buy or wire anything.
We make no representation or warranty of any kind as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of the information on this site.
No guaranteed results
System performance depends on factors we cannot see, including irradiance, shading, temperature, panel orientation, wiring quality, connection integrity, battery age and state of health, and your actual load profile. Any figure or estimate on this site is illustrative. Your results will differ.
Affiliate disclosure
This site contains affiliate links, principally through the Amazon Associates program, and we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. Commission never determines whether a product is recommended or how it is ranked. Full detail is on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

We link to retailers, manufacturers, standards bodies, and other publishers. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or accuracy. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the destination site.
