Affiliate Disclosure

Affiliate Disclosure

How Volt Brook makes money, stated plainly and up front, the way the FTC requires and the way you deserve.

Last updated: August 26, 2026

The short version

Required disclosure

Volt Brook is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

If you click an affiliate link on this site and buy something, we may receive a commission. You pay exactly the same price. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.

Why you are seeing this

The United States Federal Trade Commission requires that any material connection between a publisher and the products it recommends is disclosed clearly and conspicuously. This page, and the disclosure that appears near the affiliate links inside our guides, exist to meet that requirement under 16 CFR Part 255, the FTC Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.

We would tell you anyway. A recommendation you cannot audit is not worth much, and knowing how a site is funded is part of auditing it.

Programs we participate in

  • Amazon Associates. Our primary affiliate program, and the source of most affiliate links on this site.
  • Other affiliate networks and direct merchant programs. We may participate in additional programs from time to time. Wherever we do, the same rules on this page apply without exception.

How affiliate links work here

  • Affiliate links are marked in the page code as sponsored, so search engines and browsers can identify them.
  • A disclosure appears above the first affiliate element on any page that carries one, not only here in the footer.
  • Clicking a link may place a cookie in your browser that lets the retailer attribute a purchase to us within a set window. Our Cookie Policy covers this.
  • We never display a hard coded price. Prices change constantly, so we send you to the retailer to see the current figure.
  • You are never obliged to use our links. Searching for the product directly costs you nothing extra and costs us the commission. That is fine.

What commission does not buy

This is the part that matters most, so we will be specific.

  • Commission rates do not influence rankings. We do not promote a product because it pays better.
  • We do not accept payment from a brand in exchange for a favourable review, a position in a list, or an inclusion at all.
  • We do not accept payment for a link, and we do not sell placements inside our guides.
  • Our recommendations are constrained by the sizing math first. A product that does not fit the use case does not get recommended regardless of what it pays.
  • Every recommendation on this site carries a statement of who should not buy it. That does not change because a product is monetised.

How our recommendations are formed

Volt Brook is a research based site. We do not perform hands on testing, and we do not claim to. Our conclusions come from manufacturer specifications and datasheets, published installation manuals and standards, and verified owner reports. Our Disclaimer sets that out in full.

Your purchase

Any purchase you make happens entirely on the retailer’s site, under the retailer’s own terms, pricing, shipping, warranty, and returns policy. Volt Brook is not the seller, is not a party to the transaction, and cannot help with orders, delivery, refunds, or warranty claims. Please contact the retailer directly for anything of that kind.
